Week 22 La Colonia Kennedy

Chase is still very positive and sounds great.  He feels like there is a change coming soon with Elder Manza but he will let us know next week.

Querido Madre,
WOW going to lake powell again!!! I hope you had a fun time in lake powell.  Josey needs to start practicing outside of softball practice with dad so she can work on her catching and throwing. That is how I learned the basics in baseball. Well I am sorry for Dad´s stress and I hope he can feel the spirit to help him and comfort him. He is really an awesome dad and knows how to be a real man. Anyways Steven and JJ are glad that I have the opportunity to write me. They are so funny to hear from.

Well this week was a little bit better and this coming week is cambios. So I think Elder Maza is going to leave because he has been here in the Kennedy since May. We still do not know for sure though. We will find out on Tuesday night. Anyways we have found some new investigators to teach and baptisms for this coming week. Grecia is getting baptized tomorrow and Hector Vasquez is getting baptized this Saturday. The family that we have, Jyron and Deysi, we are hoping to teach them more this week. Other than that we have been receiving references to single adults and kids. We are really trying to find families to teach but it is so hard to encounter families that want to hear our message. I am not giving up but hopefully this week will be better for sure with finding new investigators. Oh yeah one of our ward missionaries wants me to mention him in this letter. He is 20 years old and is a convert to the church. His name is Jaime and loves to work with the missionaries. He is studying English to become an English teacher. He knows English really well. He says hi by the way. Well not sure what else to say but this week it rained a ton everynight. Anyways I love you all!!

Week 21 La Colonia Kenedy

We shared with Chase that during an amazing lightning storm our home was hit.  It was quite an experience but after a lot of repairs all is well.  On top of lightning Chases email was a day late due to the mission conference they had......rookie missionary parents get worried if even an email is late.

Family and Mom,
Wow I can´t believe a lightning storm hit the house!! I have never experienced that before and that would have been cool to experience. That stinks that everything crashed in the house and you have to fix everything again lol I might know those two kids that played club volleyball because their names sound familiar. My last year of club volleyball was super fun and I learned a lot playing. Thats exciting for Josey to play first base and I am suprised that she is not afraid of the ball lol. Well I hope you guys are all safe and sound at home.

Well this week was hard and we did a lot of walking and talking to people. We have some good investigators but we are struggling with finding new ones. No one seems to be interested at all listening to the message. I realized that we are working to much in the La Kennedy and we need to work in the other two areas we have. That is we work in Bella Oriente and Villa Nueva. So hopefully this week we can focus more on these areas and find some new investigators. Well  this week we have been teaching these really positive joven his name is Hector Vasquez and he reads everything that we give him and he always has questions for us to answer. He is really smart and has grown up in a rough life. Both of his parents were killed a long time ago by some gangs and he doesnt know why, but he has an older brother who is a member and now we are going to baptize him for sure. This coming saturday we are going to baptized Grecia because she should have permission from her parents to be baptized. The other investigators that we have are not as positive, but we are trying to make them more positive. Well I didnt write on Monday because we have a Zone Conference with Elder Carlos H. Amado!! He was really good to hear from and loves the work. He is super nice and really funny. He is part of the Presidency of the Central America area. We learned a lot from him and we were there for a long time. We were at conference for 6 hours learning and asking questions. Everyone had a good time at the conference and I learned a ton. We talked about mainly how to become an effective missionary and what the church expects of us. You can tell how Elder Amado loves the work and always wants to work with missionaries. Anyways I have been feeling bad and sad because this past week was rough for the work and I need to better myself though. Especially since there is only a week and a half in the change left. So I hope to work super hard this week and improve myself. I still want to go forward even when its super rough, but I know I will find a way for sure. One good thing is my spanish is coming I can speak to people and they understand almost everything that I say. So thats a good sign lol. Also I received a letter from JJ LeMoine the other day from Finland!!! I was so excited to hear from him lol. Well nothing else really to say but hope the house gets fixed. Love you all and thanks for everything.

Week 20 In the City of La Colonia Kenedy

Another great letter.  We missed him on a recent trip to CA but he remains very upbeat and doesn't seem too bothered that life goes on at home.

La Familia,
Hey guys how is going!! I am so jealous you went to San Diego!!! Also I am excited that Josey made the Softball team or Volleyball team?? Anyways tell her congrats! Its okay for Chelsey she probably has fun anyways! Well I am sure whatever happens everything will be fine and we will find a way to get through it. You talked to Coach Lujan?? What does he have to say!? Anyways I hope all goes well this week and you are all healthy.
Well this week was busy and we have two families to teach!!! I am so happy to be here in the Kennedy! Grecia is doing good she moved this weekend to another house in another ward!! But we put a fecha with her to be baptized on the seventeenth of this month. She is very intelligent and always has questions to ask. She will be a sweet convert. Ummm the two families are good we contacted one and received a reference from a member. They both seem positive. One family is very young and the lady is Deysi and Hidal. Deysi is 18 and Hidal is 21. They have a little girl named Marjerly who is almost one. Yes they are young but we can help them out for sure. Then we have Christian and his wife. They have two daughters and the wife is a less active member. The husband is nice and asked us a bunch of questions about the church. He seems interested but he might have a problem with tthe word of wisdom. We are excited though to teach them more and more. Anyways this week we also did divisiones with the ZL's on friday, and that day was crazy because we had to help a couple from another area get married this past Sunday. So Elder Rodriguez and I ran around in Tegucigalpa to get the paper work done for this couple. Also we got some teaching in too. We had some fun though. I really love being here in Honduras because the people are so kind and fun to talk to. There is actually a ton of fast food restaurants in the city and also some good places to eat that sell muy rica baleadas! I will show you guys how to make them one day when I come back. They are sooo good to eat! Well tell Chelsey HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow for me and I am sending her a letter and something as a surprise. Everything is awesome here though and the weather is awesome here. Some days are hot and some days not, but it is humid here. Anwyays everything is going awesome here Love you All.

La Colonia Kenedy Week 19

We were somewhat concerned with all of the Tropical Storms that have been rolling through the area but as we found out he is really doing just fine.  Protection is obvious.

Madre y la familia,

To be honest we have not that much rain this past week. Only on Sunday is when we got a fair amount of rain. I heard about the hurricanes that hit the northern east coast. How are those cities doing? Sound like Cody is excited to get out on the mission no matter where he goes. He will do awesome!! That is very interesting that Chelsey and I are not even at the house anymore and ice cream and pancakes still go on lol. It´s really funny that you didnt know any of the kids that were there. Well I hope it was fun. Also to be honest mom and dad a lot of my friends really look up to you a lot! They always loved going to our house and having a fun time. Thats why everyone likes going to the Hall house. Congrats for Brandon!! He will be a good missionary. Tell Josey good luck with try outs and work hard. Chelsey seems to be doing well in college. Tell her to keep up in her studies because its not high school anymore and no one really cares. Also I want to coach vball and get paid. I miss volleyball so much. As for the treats and package Jerky, Mike n Ikes, and chocolate twizzlers. Thank you for the package!
Well this week was okay with the Lords amazing work. We have been trying to find new investigators and contacting a ton. As for investigators we have this one girl named Grecia. She is ready for baptism and wants to be baptized but she has to get permission from her mom. Her mom said that she needs to get good grades and she can be baptized. So this week will be her receiving her final grades. We are praying and hoping that she gets good grades. Next Roberto Paz is positive but believes that all the churches are true. So we are trying to work on that and he understands the Restoration, but he still doesnt have that desire to be baptized yet. Today hopefully we can get him animated about it. Next we have Lorena who seems positive but we are having trouble getting into her house again. Also with Iris, she is a primo of an awesome member family. We just have been having trouble with finding new people to teach. So we need to fix our game plan and work with members more! They are the key into houses that we can not get into. Nothing else to say except that I love this work. Even though its a little hard I love being here. Well I know its Chelsey`s birthday next week and I am going to try and send something next week. It might take a while but I want to send something cool from Honduras to her for her 18th birthday. Well I hope all goes well this week and thanks for everything! I
