Week 35...Transfer Time to Bosque

We heard from Chase this week that he was transferred.  He is still somewhere in the City of Tegucigalpa but is in a new area that he is being asked to open and train a new missionary.  Looks like a lot of responsibility for him to grow with.  He also shared that he has been very ill but is on the mend.  We ask everyone to pray for him in his new challenge and with his health.

Dear Family,
Well sounds like you have all hear about my transfer lol. Yes I did transfer to an area called el Bosque. I am still in the city but a different zone. Well I have been assigned to train, still be a DL, and open the area too. My new companion is named Elder Mancia from El Salvador, but talk about responsibility! I am happy and excited but a little overwhelmed. But I have some bad news. The night we received transfers i got really sick. Then I changed areas and received a new companion. Woohoo. haha Awesome when your sick. Then after I couldnt do anything really because I had a super bad cold and I stayed in the house for about four days. Please dont worry I am fine. Turns out my area its super cold in my area and  my cold turned into a sinus infection. Soo I didnt get to work in the area that much and my companion has problems too. Turns out his family is not doing so well and he wants to go home and doesnt like the area or the house either. I feel bad because I havent helped much because we have been on divisiones for four days with other Elders. BUT I am doing better!!! A lot bettter. I am on antibiotics and continue to better. But yeah that has been going on here for me hahaha. Well some good news I  have is we baptized Johnnys mom before changes and I will give  you more info when I call you guys. I am calling you guys on Sunday I am not sure when though haha. Because we only have sacrament meeting and our church is at 10 to 11. So in the afternoon be free at anytime. I cant tell  you guys when exactly .. I will explain later when I call you guys. But yeah sounds like you are enjoying your trip and be safe. You are all awesome and love you all a ton. Crazy for Chelsey!!! I wouldnt worry Chelsey knows how to bang up anyone lol. Well Hope all goes well on your Christmas day haha. Well I am happy and my health is bettering no worries MOM!!!! I am still alive! Anyways thanks for all the presents too!!

Week 34 La Colonia Kenedy

We spent a weekend in Utah at our family holiday party which was odd without Chase......

Dear Family,
I am glad you guys had fun at the Christmas party.   That is so cool that Jarom is going on a mission and where is he going? Yeah I received the thanksgiving card that they sent to me. I am glad everyone had a good time and enjoyed being together. But we will see what changes are this week. We don`t know transfers until tuesday night and we will see. I hope I dont get changed because the members dont want me to leave quite yet and I really do enjoy this area. I took a last picture with the Valle family and they are all sad that I might be leaving. We will see though for sure. I might train or be assigned to another Zone Leader but who knows. I am fine with whatever area they send me too. I am here to serve the Lord in Honduras and I will be happy with any area. You are going to Disneyland!!! I remember we went with the Sparks Family and we would always say happy birthday to people who had the buttons for their birthdays lol. Good times. Well I am sure everyone will change physically. But anyways I will still recognize all of you. I am not sure when we are calling for sure but I think the 25th for sure. I will give you more details later. Also zone leaders said that we cant Skype but they werent absolutely positive. So I am going to ask President Hernandez and see what he says. Well this past week was good and we didnt have the baptisms because some little things happened. First was Fani, Stefany, and Melin are scared to be baptized because they feel like its to fast, so we put another fecha for this Saturday to be baptized and I am pretty sure they will. Then Hna Arita is ready to be baptized and will be baptized on Tuesday. Her daughter was going to be baptized but then she feels to pressured and so she is going to wait. Hna Arita is soooo awesome and she is ready to be baptized. Its super cool because her son Johnny is a member and is going on a mission in January, he still doesnt know that she is getting baptized and so we are excited to surprise him. What else happened.... oh yesterday night we were at a members house eating dinner and she was telling us that her daughter and her friend were in their room talking one day in the night. They said they heard voices or like a dark spirit in the room and they were frightened. So Hna Rivera wanted us to give a prayer in the room to make sure the Holy Ghost is there and make sure the house is safe and sound. It was interesting but I didnt feel anything weird but we did it anyways. So that was interesting haha. Also we gave blessings of comfort to hna Rivera and her daughter and some members. I gave one in English because Hna Rivera wanted me to give one in English. She knows English very well. Well thats all that I have for now and I hope you all have an awesome week! Also I have a question can I open my presents!!??? Cuidense Mucho!

Week 33 La Colonia Kenedy

Catching up on his letters.  Still in Tegu...

Queirdo Familia,
Well the weather here has been cold and cloudy. I bought a couple of sweaters to wear because at night its pretty cold. Yeah I feel like its Christmas time ever since we watched the Christmas devotional from the First Presidency. We watched it at a members house and ate dinner there too. I was singing the hymns in english with the choir and the members were laughing at me. My companion is super awesome and we get along really well. We have changes on the 14th and I think I am going to be transferred out to another area because some missionaries in our zone had mini transfers to different areas. So Elder Brooks got mini transferred into my zone for a week until changes. He has two changes left until he goes home. He is still fun to talk to lol Maybe you guys can go to his homecoming and talk with him about Honduras. Well sounds like you guys had a good time at alejandras house and ate some Honduran food. I love the food here and I want to learn how to make all of it. I cant believe you skyped the Valle family and I was there working on Friday lol. We will definitely visit the Valle family when you guys come to get me.
Well sweet deal that dad is making the change and introducing you guys to another area that he will work at. I am sure you can go find Edward in Washington lol!! Well I got your package today and I absolutely loved it!!! Everything that I ever wanted to. Especially the hot chocolate!! I am excited to try that out! Also I will figure out the tree tonight. Also the decorations are finally being put up and Navy and the dog enjoy it.
Well this week was good and we have been working hard for our baptisms for this saturday. We could have possibly 3 baptisms but we are not entirely for sure. Fani, Stefany, and Maelin are doing okay. They are afraid to be baptized because they dont want to fall away in sin again. So they are praying to find out if this is what they need to do. But I think they will be baptized next week just because stefany hasnt come to church. So then the Hna Arita is ready to be baptized for sure and her daughter Sharon wants to be baptized too but she needs to come to church. But we might need to wait. We dont know for sure though. We will see after this week. I am just excited to baptize them. I love the work here and we are starting to find new people to teach this week. We will see how they will progress. Last night after the Christmas Devocional we taught this one sixteen year old girl that has been struggling in her life. She lives in members house because her husband is in the hospital with a bad sickness. Her name is Jackie and she is really positive. She is pregnant and is has 16 years. We are trying to help her have more faith and realize that everything will be okay. Also Sunday we had an awesome testimony meeting that all the members were crying and the spirit was super strong. The reason was because almost our whole stake went to the temple to do works for the dead. Very cool experience for everyone because the Guatemala temple is closing to be remodeled. So it was the last journey to that temple. Now everyone has to go to the El Salvador temple. But yeah that was a cool experience for sure. Anyways hope you all have a good week and enjoy yourselves. thanks for everything!!!

Week 32 La Colonia Kenedy

Another week closer to Christmas and we are getting anxious to speak to Chase again. He continues to sound great and remains dedicated. We had dinner with the Valle family again this week and they Skyped their home in Tegu while we were there so we could meet the rest of their family and see where Chase eats Sunday dinner. What a great family and blessing to us. Another tender mercy....

Dear Family,
Well sounds like you guys had a blast with Thanksgiving weekend! I am glad you are all safe and happy and healthy. HA HA Chelsey is going to get married! that would be a good welcoming home gift to me. Also the Valles told me you guys were going to have a BQ Honduran style. I am excited for you guys to try some sweet food from here. I dont really know Daniela very much so sorry I cant help you on that part. I am excited that you guys know people from Honduras because the people here are super awesome! Well the Hall family seems to be chugging on with medical news and I am glad Chad is cancer free! Well I am not to worried about the move and whatever happens, happens. I am happy as long as we are a family right!? Yeah I figured I would study in Arizona anyways. Well I am glad to here everything is going well and I will try my hardest to not open the present:)

Well this week was goodwith our investigators and they are progressing well. We have Fani, Maelin, and stefany reading the Book of Mormon and love to read it. They are super funny and ready to make covenants with our Lord and Savior. Then we have Hna. Arita and I dont remember if I told you guys about her. Anyways her son, Johnny, is going on a mission to Guatemala and she told us she wants to be baptized before her son leaves for his mission. She wants to surprise him by going to the baptismal service and telling him that she is getting baptized. Its awesome and it will be a very spiritual experience. The only problem with her is she drinks coffee and alcohol so we are working with her on not taking it anymore. Other investigators we are trying really hard to find but its difficult and its hard here because knocking on doors doesnt work at all. We have to work with members and they dont have anything for us too. So I love the area but the missionary work here is difficult and this next week almost all the members are going a temple trip this week. So no one is going to be home. But we are going to stilll work hard everyday all day. This past week nothing has really happened drastic, we are just trying to work with members more. Oh yeah Thanksgiving was District meeting so the ZLs decided to do a mini zone workshop and then after we ate Chicken, mashed potatoes, and toasted bread. It was soo good and the gringos were all enjoying it. To be honest it was a normal day of working and nothing really happened. I also went on exchanges with another pair of missionaries and I got to see a lot of houses that are rich and are almost impossible to get in. The area was huge though and it was called Miraflores. Oh yeah also today in the morning for P-day we played Nerts! It was so much fun and some members knew how to play! Anyways two week left in the change and I dont want to leave because my companion is super awesome!! I dont want another companion. Well anyways we are doing well here and I hope you are doing well too. I love you all and I hope you have an awesome week! Cuidense mucho!

Week 31 La Colonial Kenedy

Querido Familia,
I am glad Arizona has good weather again and what are you guys doing for Thanksgiving? Gaby and Alejandra told me that you guys are going ot Flagstaff?? Is that true? Also I am glad you are getting to know Ingrid Flores she is super awesome and she helped me make a piñata and it was really sweet! In District Meeting we tore it apart haha with all the missionaries lol. I made a Christmas ornament haha So now I know how to make piñatas!! I will send pictures next P-Day because I didnt bring my cord with me to copy pictures. Well whats up with Dads job? Are you guys moving or no? Thats funny that all of you guys were sick because I caught gripe this past week and my companion passed it along to me. He was sick for one day and we stayed inside the house and I was super bored! Anyways the missionaries are going to celebrate Thanksgiving but the rest of the country I dont think they celebrate Thanksgiving. So it will be a normal day of working haha. With the Elder that came back is there last name Hansen?? If it is I know who Elder Hansen or Brother Hansen my bad lol. Well we have some sweet investigators that are positive. We have a partial family they dont have a dad that lives with them but their names are Fani, Maelin, and Stefany and they came to church. Also put a fecha with them to be baptized in Diciembre. Then we have Lorena who we havent taught yet but she has been to church four times and put a fecha with her for this Saturday. We will see today and see if it will happen or not. Then we have Marielos who has 18 years and she seems positive and is a nurse. Also Monica and Ivan who come from family and so we will see if we can baptize this famiily in Diciembre. We had 7 investigators in church yesterday. Yes you are all probably thinking why do we have only girl investigators but its who we have and that are progressing!! Oh yeah I almost was assigned to be a Zone Leader but they decided to give the position to another Elder. The Zone Leaders in my zone were freaking me out about it but now I am fine haha. Thank you for all of the treats and pajamas lol I cant believe we are going to have pajamas. Anyways thanks for your love and support. And especiallly the Hot Chocolate! ooooooo! Well whats going to down with you guys coming to pick me up in Honduras??? Gabby told me over skype on Sunday that you might be coming?? Also whats up with Dads job, are you guys leaving for Washington or staying in Arizona? Well thank you for everything and I love you all so much!!!

Week 30 La Colonia Kenedy

Chases 10 month mark and he is doing very well.  It sounds like he is experiencing the opportunity of being asked to lead a district.  He is loving his companion and the language is stronger and stronger.  His mom and I were able to have the Valle/Frost family over for Sunday dinner and it was such a great time.  What great people they are.  What a blessing for us to have a tender mercy like that to give us comfort as to how he is being taken care of.  Another wonderful thing for us has been receiving a letter from a Sister in Tegu.  Sister Flores sent us a note describing how he is doing and shared insights as to what a good missionary he is.  What blessing for us at home.

Querido Familia,
AWWWW!! Lucy told me yesterday that you guys were getting together. I am so happy that someone that I know, knows my family also. I am so Happy!! Wow I cant believe dad broke down and some of the people that have money here have the new iPads also. They look super nice!  There are going to be some crazy changes when I come back for sure. Also are you guys staying in AZ or is Milgard calling dad for Washington? Because it sounds like you guys are staying in AZ. Anyways I cant believe how different everyone looks in the picture you took!! Well I am coming up on the 10 month mark on my mission and its crazy how time flies here. I almost have a year! Well District Leader is good and you just have to make more calls and make sure that everyone in my District is fine and working hard. I have to teach a class every week and do divisiones or exchanges with other areas. I also have to be an example to my District and make sure I am doing everything I should be doing. I am still a normal missionary and just have more responsibility. I enjoy it though. Well as for the work we are working super hard and have found some people to teach and hopefully progress further with. We found a family through a member and there daughters came to church. We will teach them wednesday. Almost another family except no husband just only four girls, Maelin, Tami, Fanny, and Ada. We will teach them wednesday also. Then we have a NDH tonight with some twin boys who are really cool. We have only taught one of them named Ariel. Also having some confidence with the members and gaining there trust. Ahhhh we have been working hard and trying to keep pushing on to keep finding people. I was so happy this past week. Also my companion is so awesome and we work super hard. This work is so awesome when we work really hard every day and have faith everyday too. Well for other things I dont know what I want or what I need. My shoes for soccer are okay for now and my everyday shoes are good too. Maybe letters from my family, cousins, friends, and grandparents. Pictures like always ummmm I dont know haha. I will have to think of more stuff lol. Hey whats the address of the Layton Family and the Trendler Family? Also the Docksdaters also. Well my Spanish is coming really good and I love speaking spanish. I have learned so much from my companions and the people also. Well thanks for everything and your support. You are all awesome and love you all soo much!!!
Con Amor,

Week 29 La Colonia Kenedy

Chase has a new companion and he is from Nicaragua.  Now the next level of learning Spanish comes out of necessity.

Querido Familia,
How is it all going? I did receive your package from Angel and it was soo awesome with the pictures lol I cant believe you made that picture of me to carry around in San Diego!!! You all would do that! I enjoyed the pictures a ton and holy cow Navy has changed soooooo Much!!!!!!!! I cannot believe how much Josey has changed and everyone looks older except for Mom and Dad. You all look the same. Except mom changed her hair and so did Emily. Woow those pictures were so awesome! Also the letters too. thank you for all of the stuff. Angel enjoyed his visit with you guys and said that Mom and Dad look young! Which is true. Anyways Reyes and I left on a good note and I received Elder Rodriguez from Nicaragua. He has 11 months and is super awesome. He loves to work and be obedient all the time and we enjoy being together. He is really chill and enjoys the mission a ton. He does not speak any English at all and so I think I will help him out with English. Well I am not trying as you can see but I am a District Leader now haha. So I will see how I can be a leader for a District. I am glad Josey made the team in Volleyball and enjoys it and Chelsey is coaching which is what I want to do. That would be fun to do for sure! Also Ashley came over!!  She was a super good friend to me.  Well I did remember it was dads birthday on the fourth and I cant believe how fast years go by for our family. Well tell dad HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Dad is a huge part of my life and has helped through so much in my life. Well for Christmas package I want grandpas hot chocolate mix, chocolate twizzlers, twix, milky way, more pictures, maybe a voice recording of you guys. Well I will think of more stuff next week  and thanks for the letter. The work this week was good we have two investigators named Grecia and Lorena and we will teach them more this next week and see how they progress. Everything is going awesome her in the Kennedy with Rodriguez. Thank you for everything. Also its not cold now or least this past week was not very cold. Well love you tons and hope you have an awesome week!!! Thanks.

Week 28 La Colonia Kenedy

Note to self......don't tell your Son that you may be picking them up from their mission until it is much closer....

Chase is doing great and ready for transfers this week.  Chase calls them "Changes" as I am sure that is the mission lingo. He has done well to stay positive but clearly it is time for change.  If he is made a trainer he is in for another big learning and stretching experience as a missionary.  I have no doubt he can do it as he will certainly receive the tender mercies from the Lord that he needs.

Querido Familia Hall,
Are you guys going to pick me up from the mission??? I thought we were not going to do that, but some of the missionaries said that its better to have you guys pick me up when I am finishing because supposedly the passports and everything will be difficult. I dont know I still have a lot of time left in my mission so lets think about it later lol. I am soo happpy you guys met the family Valle they are a super strong family in the church!! Bro. Valle was the first stake president in Tegucigalpa way back in the day lol. He has a strong testimony!! I like talking to him because he is down to earth and knows doctrine. Yeah I talked to all of them about the visit on Sunday because they wanted to tell me everything. They said you guys are awesome and the daughters of Angel said that mom is beautiful, which is true!! I have heard missionaries doing that here and there are members that have skype. The family Valle has a webcam and we will see if its allowed or not. Still a few months till then.  I am almost completing a year in February its amazing how time flies here in the mission. Yeah the family Valle are soo awesome and nice. I am glad they have family that live inArizona. Well I hope all is well in Arizona and in the house. I pray everyday for you all.

Well this week we didnt work that much. My companion is done with working and ready to leave. I have tried to be nice and patient with him but he is being impatient and rude with almost everyone. I think he is mad that he didnt get to go to Danli to visit there for his last P-day. Anyways we have an investigator who has come to church two sundays in a row so we need to teach her and get her in the water lol. Her name is Lorena and has a ton of Mormon friends. She likes church and seems really positive. Other than that we dont have anyone else to teach. My companion has had no desire to work. We leave the house but we dont do anything at all. Well changes are this week and I will receive my new companion. Everyone says that I will be training but we dont know quite yet till the night before changes. Which is Tuesday night. Sounds like Dad is not as stressed, but receiving guidance from the Lord for what comes next. As for me I cant say anything because I am not there, but whatever you decide is fine with me. We might as well make friends with everyone in the west coast side of the states lol. Ummmm sorry for the lame stuff to send but the next package will be lots of stuff to ask for before christmas. Hey send me a picture of Navy for me please and any other pictures!! I love you all so much and hope you are all safe and happy. Even though the mission is hard right now but I am still going on and enjoying every second that I have here. I will let you know what happens with changes. Thanks for everything and we will talk later!

Con Amor,

Week 27 La Colonia Kenedy

Another week passed by and he is still challenged but upbeat and learning from his new companion.  The most amazing thing happened for Amy and I this week.  The Valle family from the area that Chase is in were visiting here in Phoenix and Amy and I were able to spend an hour with them just talking about Chase and all that he is doing in Tegucigalpa.  It brought great relief and also tears of joy to hear how he is doing.  He is a faithful Missionary and Son as evidenced by their  description of him.   As parents we have truly been blessed to be a part of his life and to have met such wonderful saints from a far away place.

Querido Familia,
yeah this past week was fast and slow at the same time. We had some days that were good and some not, but we work. Anyways we just have to get through this week and everything will be good. I am glad you are going to talk to some people that I know. They are an awesome family. Also send a couple garment shirts because some how I am missing two tops. They have some here but they dont have my size and type that I like. Well I am sorry to hear about dads work and how he laid off a bunch of workers. I have been praying for him to have comfort and peace. I know the Lord will provide the way for us to live. No matter where we live in Arizona or Washington. If you do move let me know and it will be weird coming home to a new ward in washington. But I dont know whats going to happen so I am not going to worry about it to much. I will pray for you all everyday. I am super happy Josey is playing sports and having fun. In Tegucigalpa its cold and a little rainy. Everyday its cloudy and cold. Everyone in Tegucigalpa is wearing jackets and hats lol. Sounds like Chelsey is enjoying her time dating everyone. I think I remember who Taft is. He seems like a good kid.
Well this week like I said fast and slow week for sure. We are getting along and he is teaching me a lot. He has taught me how to be happy even though the work is really hard right now. Also has taught me how to speak better spanish. He is not a bad missionary its just sometimes he wants to do things his own way, which is fine but now always right. I am just trying to be patient and enjoy being with him because it is his last few weeks as a missionary. I guess its hard to not focus on the work and only focus on my companion. Its a different way of  working I guess haha. Well we have contacted a lot and maybe found some people to teach and baptize in the month of November, and I have some ideas to try and find people through members. We will see how this week turns out and hopefully my companion can last for just a little bit longer. Anyways thanks for the love and support I really do appreciate it. Oh yeah so the ward had a baptism for an eight year old kid and we had to bring clothes for him to baptize. So it turned out that I had to baptize him for the ward which was fine. The water was super cold and it was cold outside also. So I enter and then the kid enters and is starts to chatter his teeth because he is not use to cold stuff like that. Anyways I said the prayer and I was going to dunk him but he didnt want to go under!! So I did the prayer again and I almost got him under, but his arm didnt go under because he was freaked out about going under water. So then the thrid time I did everything again and I used a little force to get him under and he didnt like it to much but I made sure he was completely under. It was a funny story for sure lol Well other than that I am good I am trying to keep focus and always make sure that I am happy and enjoying myself in the mission. No matter what the circumstances. I appreciate everything you all do and I pray for you all everyday! Love you all so much!!

Week 26 La Colonia Kenedy

He is still doing great even though he has a few challenges to face.  His language and confidence in Honduras are obviously getting better as he is actually thinking what it would be like to become a trainer.

Dear Family,
Hey does Angel know english?? I didnt know that lol Well seems like there is some bad news coming with dads work.  I am glad that Chelsey is dating a lot and loves the fact that institute is the place to be. I loved that institute in college because everyone came to see what was going on everyday. And yes lots of single adults there lol. It´s funny that you should mention about becoming a trainer. We had interviews this past thursdayand President Hernandez asked me if I would like to train lol. I am not sure why but I kind of told him yes because he asked me. I am not entirely sure, so we will see at changes. I am glad Nick came back from his mission safely and probably loved every second of his mission. I am trying to remember who taft is but I cant remember what he looks like?? Is he tall or small? Anyways thanks for the love and support. I really do appreciate it and Cody sent me a email for his address lol. So we can write each other for sure lol.

Well this week was really hard to work with  my companion. We had a day where he didnt want to leave to work because we dont have anyone to teach. I wanted to leave and try and find people to teach but he was disanimated too. So we talked about it and he said that I wasnt happy and always frustrated. I was because no one is progressing and we cant find new investigators. So we had a good talk and I decided to try and be more happy and not be frustrated because the Lord wants me to be happy. Well I know I cant do anything if the people dont want to hear our message. But we continue to go on. The only thing that bugs me is my companion is kind of just waiting to go home. We have two weeks left in the change and I dont think we have any baptisms at all. So I am trying to be more of a friend to my companion and try to be happy and be patient. I am hoping to have a more successful week and work with members more. Because contacting doesnt work here in the city. Our area is really small and everyone has been contacted in the area. Anyways I am trying to be patient, obedient, work hard, and be happy. I am hoping my next companion is ready to work next change. Its interesting because a member of our ward can tell that my companion is ready to leave. two sundays ago he gave me a note in sacrament meeting and it helped me out a ton he said I need to be patient and keep trying to show the Lord that I want to serve the Lord everyday all day. Anyways I am trying to work hard these next two weeks and have a good time with my companion. He is really nice and knows a lot but has his mind at home. So anyways pray for me and it will be good. Love you all and thanks for the support. Anyways thanks for everything and you should send some of Grandpa Reids hot chocolate!!! I pray for you guys everyday and hope you guys will figure out things just fine. Thanks for everything.

Week 25 La Colonia Kenedy

Hey Familia,
I am so happy they got a hold of you because I gave her the home phone number but they said it was out of service, so I remembered that the house was struck by lightning and everything electrical was shot. So I gave moms phone number and I am glad yoou got to talk to them. As for things I need maybe some shave cartridges  for my razor and floss from the dental office. The kind of floss I need for my retainer on the bottom of my teeth. Pictures would be sooo sweet!!! I dont know anything you would like to send me. lol. The family you will meet will be the Valle family. They are super awesome and nice. Brother Valle or Angel, was sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple in like 1973 I think. You will love them. Super nice people. Always bottling things this time of the year. I remember half the Relief of Society women were at the house always. I am so happy that you received my letters!!! I have been wondering if they were lost or something. Anyways the weather I miss in Arizona, the weather here has been rainy and hot. Last week it rained everyday and was super hot today!! Anyways as for the work this last week was super hard because we talked to everyone this week and no one wanted to hear our message. But we keep pushing on. We also had a baptism which was sweet!! and her name is Saraí she is an awesome convert. She was so ready to enter into the Kingdom of God and even though she is 25 she was so happy to know that there is more to life after this life. Other investigators we have one other who will be baptized on the 29th of this month. She told us she wants to be baptized and so we are going to help with that. Well I know it has been a hard week because Elder Reyes is really ready to go home and doesnt want to do anything. He works because I want to work so I have to push him till the end. I have to have so much patience for him and love him for who he is. We get along its just he wants to go home really bad. I have been stressed because my companion is hard sometimes to work with. But I am trying to be better and look in the best in my companion but it is soo hard sometimes. Anyways pray for me for help and strength to stand up to my companion to keep working and pushing on. Well thanks for the love and support and hopefully you all have a fantastic weekend. I know the Lord is blessing me and my family. See you guys later.

Week 24 La Kenedy

Conference weekend in the mission field.  This brings back some very special memories as you learn in the mission field that the words of our Prophet are truly leading our lives.  You can see that he really enjoyed it and took everything in that he could.  Funny how perspective changes when you are doing the Lords work for a living!

Dear Family,
Conference weekend was so awesome!!! I loved every talk and they helped me with everything that I need to do and improve on. Yes I got to watch in English at the stake center. They had a room for english and the big sacrament room for spanish. All of the gringos went and watched conference in english we had a good time. I can´t believe they are building another temple in Provo!!!!! It is absolutely insane. Priesthood was really good and I enjoyed most of it except during President Uchtdorf´s talk and Presidents Monson´s the satellite cut out for 5 min. I enjoyed Elder Hollands talk on preparing for a mission because its so true for all the boys getting ready for their missions. I am jealous Chelsey went to conference haha and why does she want to go to the Y so bad???? I am actually not sure what I am going to do after the mission because its such a long ways ahead.

One thing I learned when I was in Choluteca. Life in Honduras is really hard! Also I am sending a letter this week with a family to Arizona because they are visiting their family that lives in Arizona. They live in Glendale I think, so I am not sure when you will get it but they come on Saturday or Sunday into AZ. So heads up for that!
Anyways Elder Reyes is good and we work just fine together and I am starting to speak a lot more spanish. I am excited to have a latin. He is reallly nice and helps me with my spanish a ton. Our recent investigators are Harlem and Ruth who were references of a member and they seem really positive about listening and understanding. We also found two new families which willl be goood to teach this week. Also have another reference from another member to a girl named Indira. She talks a lot and asks a lot of questions. She might have some doubts but we are trying to figure it out and help her understand. I just think she needs some friends in the ward to help her actually change her life. She will progress well. Then we had investigators come to General Conference. An important one is Roberto Paz because he doesnt have a desire to change his life, but he came to a session of conference. With his family and so later that night we went to his house to see if he had any questions but he was sleeping. He had a dream I guess that his wife told us that he was in a plane and the plane was crashing into the sea. They survived and there was a floating car or tube that came and saved them all and they were mormons lol. So he had the desire to go to church. It was really weird lol. Anyways other than that we are still trying to find more to teach. Oh yeah we have a baptism this saturday with a reference from a seventy and her name is Saraí. She is super pilas to baptize and has a ton of questions to ask. She is ready to be baptized this week. Anyways everything is going well and we are working everyday. Thank you for the love and support. I hope you guys have a sweet weekend and continue on in liffe. Love you all and see you next week!!!

Week 23 La Colonia Kenedy

A little behind posting again.  He is doing great and has another companion but stayed in the city.  He is happy and healthy from all that he is sharing

Querido Familia,
Sounds like Lake Powell was a super fun time and the weather was absolutely perfect! I am glad that all of you are safe and sound. Yes I did receive my package and thank you for everything. It was so good to hear from all the Lake Powell friends and seems like everyone missed me. I hope not because you guys probably had just as much fun without me. Yeah we receive satellite for general conference and I am pretty sure we can watch it in spanish or english, so I am pretty sure all of the gringos are going to watch it in English. At least I want to! Congrats for Josey and I bet the ward is way different. Hey why does Cody feel lonely? I hope he is doing good and learning lots in the mission. Well I am pretty sure you guys will be fine with the help of the Lord and I will pray for you. With the baptisms we had two with Hector Vasquez and Grecia and they were really good! I was so happy to help them get into the waters of baptism. The work is so amazing because of the lives that I get to change. We did have Cambios and Elder Maza left for Cantarans and I stayed in the Kennedy. I received Elder Reyes fromEl Salvador, my first Latino Companion!!!!! He is really nice and kind but this is his last change in the mission. So he ends his mission with me in the Kennedy. The first couple of days were different but I am learning spanish really fast!! I can tell the difference for sure. The only thing is Elder Reyes is Baggi which means he is ready to go home and be done with the mission. He works because I drag him along but he doesnt complain to much. He is really smart and knows the scriptures really well. He helps me out a lot with spanish and enjoying my mission more. He is nothing like my gringo companions but he is good. We are going to have a really good change for sure. We have found some new investigators to teach and hopefully baptize at the end of the month. Investigators are just coming to church to learn of the gospel. I also found out I need to be patient with my companion with his shortcomings and try and help him. Because if he and I are not on the same page then the work is going to be difficult. Yes I am excited for the temple to be ready when I come back home!! Hopefully get to do a session first thing when I get back. I miss the temple but it will come in time. Our new investigators are Harlem, Ruth, Deysi, Jydal, Roberto, and Valeri. They are positive but they just have things holding them up to progress. Yeah I dont know it will be interesting though to see what happens this change. Oh yeah we have another investigator who is really weird but seems to be ready for baptism. Her name is Sarai and she received the missionaries in another area but she has to assist here in the Kennedy. Probably because of where she lives but she wont give us the address for some reason. She is super weird but has a lot of questions. We will see what happens with her for sure. Other than that the area is doing okay. I am excited for this change!!! Awesome Possum. Thank you for your help and prayers. See you next week.

Week 22 La Colonia Kennedy

Chase is still very positive and sounds great.  He feels like there is a change coming soon with Elder Manza but he will let us know next week.

Querido Madre,
WOW going to lake powell again!!! I hope you had a fun time in lake powell.  Josey needs to start practicing outside of softball practice with dad so she can work on her catching and throwing. That is how I learned the basics in baseball. Well I am sorry for Dad´s stress and I hope he can feel the spirit to help him and comfort him. He is really an awesome dad and knows how to be a real man. Anyways Steven and JJ are glad that I have the opportunity to write me. They are so funny to hear from.

Well this week was a little bit better and this coming week is cambios. So I think Elder Maza is going to leave because he has been here in the Kennedy since May. We still do not know for sure though. We will find out on Tuesday night. Anyways we have found some new investigators to teach and baptisms for this coming week. Grecia is getting baptized tomorrow and Hector Vasquez is getting baptized this Saturday. The family that we have, Jyron and Deysi, we are hoping to teach them more this week. Other than that we have been receiving references to single adults and kids. We are really trying to find families to teach but it is so hard to encounter families that want to hear our message. I am not giving up but hopefully this week will be better for sure with finding new investigators. Oh yeah one of our ward missionaries wants me to mention him in this letter. He is 20 years old and is a convert to the church. His name is Jaime and loves to work with the missionaries. He is studying English to become an English teacher. He knows English really well. He says hi by the way. Well not sure what else to say but this week it rained a ton everynight. Anyways I love you all!!

Week 21 La Colonia Kenedy

We shared with Chase that during an amazing lightning storm our home was hit.  It was quite an experience but after a lot of repairs all is well.  On top of lightning Chases email was a day late due to the mission conference they had......rookie missionary parents get worried if even an email is late.

Family and Mom,
Wow I can´t believe a lightning storm hit the house!! I have never experienced that before and that would have been cool to experience. That stinks that everything crashed in the house and you have to fix everything again lol I might know those two kids that played club volleyball because their names sound familiar. My last year of club volleyball was super fun and I learned a lot playing. Thats exciting for Josey to play first base and I am suprised that she is not afraid of the ball lol. Well I hope you guys are all safe and sound at home.

Well this week was hard and we did a lot of walking and talking to people. We have some good investigators but we are struggling with finding new ones. No one seems to be interested at all listening to the message. I realized that we are working to much in the La Kennedy and we need to work in the other two areas we have. That is we work in Bella Oriente and Villa Nueva. So hopefully this week we can focus more on these areas and find some new investigators. Well  this week we have been teaching these really positive joven his name is Hector Vasquez and he reads everything that we give him and he always has questions for us to answer. He is really smart and has grown up in a rough life. Both of his parents were killed a long time ago by some gangs and he doesnt know why, but he has an older brother who is a member and now we are going to baptize him for sure. This coming saturday we are going to baptized Grecia because she should have permission from her parents to be baptized. The other investigators that we have are not as positive, but we are trying to make them more positive. Well I didnt write on Monday because we have a Zone Conference with Elder Carlos H. Amado!! He was really good to hear from and loves the work. He is super nice and really funny. He is part of the Presidency of the Central America area. We learned a lot from him and we were there for a long time. We were at conference for 6 hours learning and asking questions. Everyone had a good time at the conference and I learned a ton. We talked about mainly how to become an effective missionary and what the church expects of us. You can tell how Elder Amado loves the work and always wants to work with missionaries. Anyways I have been feeling bad and sad because this past week was rough for the work and I need to better myself though. Especially since there is only a week and a half in the change left. So I hope to work super hard this week and improve myself. I still want to go forward even when its super rough, but I know I will find a way for sure. One good thing is my spanish is coming I can speak to people and they understand almost everything that I say. So thats a good sign lol. Also I received a letter from JJ LeMoine the other day from Finland!!! I was so excited to hear from him lol. Well nothing else really to say but hope the house gets fixed. Love you all and thanks for everything.

Week 20 In the City of La Colonia Kenedy

Another great letter.  We missed him on a recent trip to CA but he remains very upbeat and doesn't seem too bothered that life goes on at home.

La Familia,
Hey guys how is going!! I am so jealous you went to San Diego!!! Also I am excited that Josey made the Softball team or Volleyball team?? Anyways tell her congrats! Its okay for Chelsey she probably has fun anyways! Well I am sure whatever happens everything will be fine and we will find a way to get through it. You talked to Coach Lujan?? What does he have to say!? Anyways I hope all goes well this week and you are all healthy.
Well this week was busy and we have two families to teach!!! I am so happy to be here in the Kennedy! Grecia is doing good she moved this weekend to another house in another ward!! But we put a fecha with her to be baptized on the seventeenth of this month. She is very intelligent and always has questions to ask. She will be a sweet convert. Ummm the two families are good we contacted one and received a reference from a member. They both seem positive. One family is very young and the lady is Deysi and Hidal. Deysi is 18 and Hidal is 21. They have a little girl named Marjerly who is almost one. Yes they are young but we can help them out for sure. Then we have Christian and his wife. They have two daughters and the wife is a less active member. The husband is nice and asked us a bunch of questions about the church. He seems interested but he might have a problem with tthe word of wisdom. We are excited though to teach them more and more. Anyways this week we also did divisiones with the ZL's on friday, and that day was crazy because we had to help a couple from another area get married this past Sunday. So Elder Rodriguez and I ran around in Tegucigalpa to get the paper work done for this couple. Also we got some teaching in too. We had some fun though. I really love being here in Honduras because the people are so kind and fun to talk to. There is actually a ton of fast food restaurants in the city and also some good places to eat that sell muy rica baleadas! I will show you guys how to make them one day when I come back. They are sooo good to eat! Well tell Chelsey HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow for me and I am sending her a letter and something as a surprise. Everything is awesome here though and the weather is awesome here. Some days are hot and some days not, but it is humid here. Anwyays everything is going awesome here Love you All.

La Colonia Kenedy Week 19

We were somewhat concerned with all of the Tropical Storms that have been rolling through the area but as we found out he is really doing just fine.  Protection is obvious.

Madre y la familia,

To be honest we have not that much rain this past week. Only on Sunday is when we got a fair amount of rain. I heard about the hurricanes that hit the northern east coast. How are those cities doing? Sound like Cody is excited to get out on the mission no matter where he goes. He will do awesome!! That is very interesting that Chelsey and I are not even at the house anymore and ice cream and pancakes still go on lol. It´s really funny that you didnt know any of the kids that were there. Well I hope it was fun. Also to be honest mom and dad a lot of my friends really look up to you a lot! They always loved going to our house and having a fun time. Thats why everyone likes going to the Hall house. Congrats for Brandon!! He will be a good missionary. Tell Josey good luck with try outs and work hard. Chelsey seems to be doing well in college. Tell her to keep up in her studies because its not high school anymore and no one really cares. Also I want to coach vball and get paid. I miss volleyball so much. As for the treats and package Jerky, Mike n Ikes, and chocolate twizzlers. Thank you for the package!
Well this week was okay with the Lords amazing work. We have been trying to find new investigators and contacting a ton. As for investigators we have this one girl named Grecia. She is ready for baptism and wants to be baptized but she has to get permission from her mom. Her mom said that she needs to get good grades and she can be baptized. So this week will be her receiving her final grades. We are praying and hoping that she gets good grades. Next Roberto Paz is positive but believes that all the churches are true. So we are trying to work on that and he understands the Restoration, but he still doesnt have that desire to be baptized yet. Today hopefully we can get him animated about it. Next we have Lorena who seems positive but we are having trouble getting into her house again. Also with Iris, she is a primo of an awesome member family. We just have been having trouble with finding new people to teach. So we need to fix our game plan and work with members more! They are the key into houses that we can not get into. Nothing else to say except that I love this work. Even though its a little hard I love being here. Well I know its Chelsey`s birthday next week and I am going to try and send something next week. It might take a while but I want to send something cool from Honduras to her for her 18th birthday. Well I hope all goes well this week and thanks for everything! I

Week 18 La Colonia Kenedy

Week two in the Tegucigalpa area.  He is very excited, loves his new companion and wants things to go well.  It is evident that he misses some of the fun things we do as a family but doesn't seem to dwell on them other than enjoy the memories that come with them.  Here you go.

Hey Mommie!
¿Qué tal estamos? Well crap I want to go camping with the boys! I have not camped like that in a long time haha. After I get back I want to go on hunts and go camping everywhere. Ahhhh I love little Navy and I hope to see her after I get back and get a big huge hug from her. I love you guys so much. I am glad modesty night was fun.  I miss youth activities on Wednesdays because they were always so much fun to go to. Ohh Cody left and I hope him for the best. He has such and awesome opportunity to serve and in Spanish wooohooo! I love hearing all of my frriends leaving for their missions. That makes me feel really good. I hope Scott goes on a mission and what happened at BYU Hawaii???  Tell him to prepare himself for a mission and go on one. He needs to feel the absolute pleasure to serve the Lord for two years.

Well this week was good not the best but we are trying to work with members and get them animated to help us. The only way we are going to get into the houses of people is through members because the members know the area better than we do. This week we went with this awesome strong family the Valle´s. Hermano Valle was a stake president and bishop multiple times as a member of the church. He was one of the first converts in Honduras and he was sealed in the temple with his wife in the Mesa, Arizona temple. The reason is it was the only temple close enough back when he was converted. They gave us a few references and they went with us to go see them and work with them. Their faith in the church is super strong. Also we had a couple lessons with openening the mouth everyday, but none really to progress. Also this weekend we went to another area to help some missionaries with their baptism. Elder Maza is a DL and he needed to do an entrevista in Sabana Grande. This city is in the mountains and is in the middle of no where. When we were traveling to Sabana Grande and it was foggy and misty going there. The place is really cool to go see. Well we had to stay there for the night because there were no buses to come back until the next day. We came back to the city with the Branch from Sabana Grande because we had the opportunity to dedicate the El Salvador Temple which was sweet to see. Elder Erying dedicated the temple and he is so awesome. He gave a little prophecy about the missionary work in Central America, but then stopped because he needed to. Anyways we struggled with missing our Saturday day of work. But it was all a baptism. Anyways not much else to say. The city is huge though and its hard to describe how big it is. Well thanks for everything.

Week 17 First Transfer

Chase is now moved north near Tegucigalpa.  He is very excited and positive in spite of changes.  I think he is an amazing man with the ability to roll with change and see the positive.  He shared that he is in La Kennedy which is a colony just south and east of Tegucigalpa.  Looks like all one big city to me.

He is doing great.....enjoy.

Dear Family,
I cant believe that happened to Cody haha I hope he is doing better and loves serving the Lord. He really does have an amazing opportunity to serve the Lord for two years. AHHHH man I miss Jeff!! I am glad he is serving though! I cant wait to see him later. Sounds like you love your laurels and Modest is the Hottest is kind old, but its good. Some advice for girls on modesty is dress modestly because you can focus more on the personality of the girl and really see who she is rather than focusing on what the girl is wearing. From my own personal perspective the most distracting for a guy is what the girl wears in general. I love it when girls are modest! This past P-day we had a multi zone activity with basketball, soccer, and I got to pepper with some Elders who knew how to play vball. I was so excited. I miss playing vball all the time. Hey did Josey understand the spanish I left her?? lol

Well I changed to Tegucigalpa!!! I am in the area called the La Kennedy and I am soo stoked to be here. My companion is Elder Maza and he is super awesome. He is from California and he was in the same district as Elder Neher in the MTC!! I was pretty stoked to be with him. He has really good spanish and loves the work. He is a DL and I love this area!!!! I cant believe I am in the city. The city is so much different than the south because the people are smarter and its really hard to get into houses. My area is a ward called la Kennedy. The area is more civilized and every street is paved lol. no more dirt roads!! The city is not thatt hot at all and its actually really cool here. The area is a whole different game than the south. We went out and met some families and members that are super awesome. I just cant believe how different it is here compared to the south because when we explain a scripture or teach something the people understand. The only difficult part is finding people to teach and getting into the houses. Contacting and opening the mouth is easy but not effective at all because everyone here is either Catholic, Evangelica, or Mormón. Our new game plan this week is family nights with the members to meet new investigators and families. The missions focus for this month is baptizing families because they are the future of the church. We still baptized regularly, but we are trying to find 2 new families a week. Anyways the mission is sooo awesome and I love every second of it. I have a feeling this change is going to be sweet with Elder Maza and we are going to find those families!!!! Well I am not sure what else to say but that this is going to be a sweet change. Tell Chelsey to rip it up with EAC they need a beat down for sure!! Any ways thanks for the love and support like always. Also I am going to get fat in this area because the members feed us food practicly everyday. I am good though with everything and still enjoying those treats. Well I hope you have a good week though.

Week 16 Honduras

Another week gone by and he is settled very nicely

Dear Mom,
Well I finally received the package you sent!! It was soo awesome to see some pictures and these amazing treats. Is the iPod in the Muddy Buddies? I gave some muddy buddies to an Elder in my Zone, Elder D´lubiano from Mexico, he was instantly addicted hahah. Latins are funny to feed American treats because they dont really make any that I know of. Well I am suprised school starts over again!! That is soo weird and only Josey is going. Hopefully Josey takes spanish seriously because I did not lol. But I can send a paragraph of spanish to her through email. Thats awesome mom that you Open your Mouth, one thing I learned when talking to people is to be excited and fun. Open the Mouth doesnt have to necessarily have to be gospel based it can just be small talk about there life and who they are as a person. Once you give a good first impression the spirit will always say something to say that relates to the gospel. My teacher in the MTC taaught me that the first 15 seconds in talking to someone can show whether the person wants to talk to you or not. The first thing is always giving a good impression with your name and asking for theirs. I have learned to have fun with it because some people are funny to talk to. Yeah its crazy that I have 6 months already!! and Steven and Jeff have a year!!! I cant believe how time flies by. I am glad you are trying though mom you are such an awesome mother. I can remember the many times I talked to you about my high school problems and such lol I would have never made it through high school with out your help.

Hey Dad  I actually have not noticed that though with me saying the same things back to you lol. I guess just your advice and such helps a lot in the mission. Anyways hope you are doing fine with everything.

Well this week was normal nothing really excited. We just worked really hard on teaching some new families that we have and getting them to progress. I know Satan is trying to keep all of our investigators from coming unto Christ. I am not sure what else I can do. Maybe its a test but all I can do is be happy and smile and keep going. I would love these people to come unto Christ but as missionaries we can only invite and if they make the decision to not follow Christ then we cant do anything though. Everyday we try to find new people always have an eternal perspective. Elder Thatcher told me that to always look for new investigators to teach. Anways we didnt teach as much as I wish we could have, but it was hard. I swear we have walked to every part of our area and contacted every person. But the fact is we have to keep doing it, so when those people do need  help we are ready to help. We did have a cool experience yesterday with teaching an American in English lol. His name is Michael and he is from New York. He is 17 and said he comes to Honduras once a month because his parents live down here. He is really fun to talk to and the lesson we gave was so spiritual. He leaves this friday but we invited him to pray if these things are true and he said he would do it. It was different teaching in English lol. Anyways we had some fun this week because we made pizza with a member and Orchata with another. Both those things were so good to eat lol. Well changes are this wednesday and the ZL´s told me that I have a high chance of changing to a new area. We will see what happens though. I just don´t want to leave though because I love the area that I am in. Well if I am called to a new area then its what God wants me to do. I will obey. Another than not much else to say. Hope you have a good week and are safe. I pray for you all everyday. Thank you for all that you do.

Con Amor,
Elder Hall

Week 15 Honduras

Another Great Letter

Dear Mom,
Well this week has been busy for both of us. I remember going to Utah for family vacation sometimes and we would have a blast driving up there in the truck. Sounds like you had fun cleaning the house and making sure its ready for the new comers. I am glad that the iPod made it back to the USA lol I am suprised too! Elder Urbina and I made that box for it. The Package I still have not seen yet but I should get it this week hopefully. Well my week has been fast and frustrating this week.

This week we had a lot of citas set up to go teach some new investigators but everyday all of our citas would fall and we would be stuck with taling to people. We have new clue why they keep falling but it seems like some of the investigators dont want to listen or they dont seem so positive. The first time we taugh thtem they seem really positive and want us to come back but what happens is they are gone or to busy to talk too. We were getting frustrated. But I know I have to keep being positive and pressing on with the work. I know the  Lord will help us find and teach those people who are prepared for the gospel. We jsut need to keep moving on and doing everything we are supposed to do. I do remember that Dad and Bishop Farnsworth told me when it gets hard in the work that means we need to work even harder. Well changes are coming up soon we will see what happens. This is the last full week in the change. Also some great news that I found out was our mission broke the record in the most baptisms in a month for our mission. We had 225 baptisms I think. So yeah the mission is working really hard. Well thats about it for this week I am pretty sure.

Something funny we had happen to us was we were walking back to our house one night and walked past a few bolo´s and they were talking to us and wanted 5 lempìras form us but we didnt have anything. Then he hugged us both and said Twani´s, which is slang for like cool. It was a funny experience talking to them. Well I hope all goes well this week and you all are safe. You guys are always in my prayers.

Week 14 Honduras

Letters are great!  He is doing well.  Catching up.

Dear Mom,
I am glad you love my letters ha. I hope you guys had fun at Powell this past week. I remember the YMYW activity those were always fun to go to. Yeah I would send a picture to Elder Brooks mom for the heck of it, I know my companion didnt send one lol. Well I hope the move goes well with Aunt Jen and all of them Lehi is a little more calm. Pleasant Grove has to many problems lol

Well this week was good we worked really hard and were busy everyday getting ready for the baptism this past week and also we are going to marry a family this next week. Our baptism were really awesome with these two kids. They are super smart and nice. There is a lot going on in our area ha. The only problem is we found out that Alexis has a problem with the Word of Wisdom so we have to work with that. I think Satan is trying everything he can to stop this family from getting baptized. I cant wait to sucker punch him in the face for it. Also we had a sweet day with one of our AP´s last Tuesday he went with us to citas and wanted to get to know our area. He also helped us with Alexis and Alba a lot with making the decision to be married. HIs name is Elder Quirk he is super awesome and nice to everyone. He is the biggest goofball but he loves to serve the Lord. The work keeps pushing forward and it makes me feel happy to serve here. We had interviews with President Hérnandez and he is a huge servant to the Lord. He was a missionary and loves to Preach the Gospel. He told me some good counsels and to baptize all. I am really excited to work with him.

The weather here is always hot and then rains really hard in the afternoon. My spanish is improving I guess I have no clue. The people understand me for the most part and I am excited to keep learning more and more. Our Zone is working hard to go forward and baptize everyone. We are just busy busy everyday. I love it though I know when I get home I will be really bored all the time. Not sure if there is anything else to say. I am doing good and keeping myself healthy. I am still going forward everyday trying to help the kingdom of God. I think that is all thank you for the letters and stuff your awesome. See you later and be safe.

Week 13

More good letters from Chase.  We were a bit concerned that missing his first Lake Powell trip would cause some homesickness.  He certainly doesn't show it here.  More pictures as well this past week.  He seems to continue to do great work and loves serving.

Week 12

A little late on my posting due to vacation etc.  He still sounds great and I have a few more pictures to share.

Dear Mom,
Sounds like you and Elder Brooks mom will hit it off. He is super funny and loves to follow the spirit. I have never heard a person have so many stories to tell lol. They are all super funny though. Sweet I will look for the package with everything. Does the iPod have music on it? Thank you sooo much for the treats and such !!!! Sounds like big changes for our house in Utah though. I hope they settle in well. They are seriously my second family, I enjoyed my summer living with them lol. Also tell Chelsey congrats for passing! Mrs. Lew will probably be super excited! I didnt pass it but oh well lol Well I hope you guys are safe with your travels and I pray for you guys everyday because you are all my inspiration in being here. Thank you so much for your help and prayers. Hey when do you guys go to Lake Powell this summer??

Well this week was a bit rough because we are having trouble finding new people for to teach. We have investigators to teach its just they are kind of on the edge of falling or not. We are trying everything we can to help them come unto Christ. Its so frustrating sometimes because people have their agency to choose. We just have to make sure we are doing our part. One family we are trying to help and get baptized is Alexis and Alba they are super positive and love having us over. The only thing holding them back is receiving an answer if this is what they need to do. Anyways I am still going forward with a smile and trying everything we can to help them come unto Christ. This work is so amazing to be apart of. We also met our new President of the mission on Friday. He is so awesome and nice. I am excited to work with him more and more. I am not sure what else to say. If you have any other questions let me know.

I also realize how much opening my mouth helps us get to know people. We have this thing called Abrir La Voca or Open the mouth. We set a goal to talk to 20 people a day at least. It is really good opportunity to spread the word of God. I wish I would have opened the mouth more when I was in high school and around the non member friends I had. That is one thing I need to do more when I come back. I have found to love talking to people and talk about their lives and what they find is precious to them in their life. One thing I have noticed is everyone here believes in God. I have not met one person who does not believe in God. Anyways you all should try it because its super simple. Just start with doing small talk and then work into where do they come from. It is amazing what kind of people you meet. Well yeah love you all! See ya next week.

Week 11

We finally received some pictures this week.   He looks great.....a little skinny but great.  This will be his first companion change as Elder Thatcher goes home from his mission.  We will be forever grateful to him for helping Chase through the hardest part of his mission.

Hey Family,
This week was better with health wise. I think I have been sick because of the rain everyday and the misquitoes everywhere. We had another Elder who has been sick for 4 days. It sounds like you had some fun going to California and seeing some old friends. I miss California. When we went to San Diego during fall break those were always fun. Sounds like you have been busy with everything. I hope Chelsey takes school seriously because its seriously nothing like high school. Anyways its great to hear that you guys are doing great and everything. Also cambios arent till this wednesday and Elder Thatcher left today! He doesnt leave from Honduras till Thursday so yeah. I cried when he left. He was such an awesome companion to me. He is an awesome companion to me. I definitely will miss him a ton.

Well this past week we worked hard till the end and Elder Thatcher has been telling his goodbyes to our area. Everyone here really respected him and love his presence. The reason is because he is himself when he teaches and talks to the people. Then the people realize how much he cares for these people. We didnt have baptisms but we are teaching some sweet families though. I am excited to baptize these families this next month. I am hoping for a sweet companion and we can get to work.

The rainy season is really cool because everything is so green and really pretty. This past week I had the chance to see an area called San Marcos de Colon. That area is super pretty. I think a lot of the Elders are getting sick down here because of all the rain and bugs everywhere. It basically rains in the afternoon and pours our rain. We had to walk through a river of water in the road to get to a house. We were soaked. But yeah I am happpy and pushing on though. I am sad that Elder Thatcher left but excited to because he is moving on with his life. Anyways the work is going forward and strong. The changes that are happening this wednesday are going to be interesting because a big group of gringos leave that were big leaders in the mission. Also we lose President Chaverri and receive a new one. Lots of excitement this week with the mission. Well thank you for the support and prayers. see you next week.
