Week 58 Choluteca

Another short letter for Memorial Day but he is recognizing miracles as he sets goals and then leaves it up to the Lord.

Dear Family,
How is week going?? Sounds like you are doing well and starting your summer fun with an awesome lake trip. I am so jealous haha. 8 months right?? jk Anyways Crazy how missionaries are coming home so fast and it actually blows my mind like crazy. Also I miss Trek and that was a fun experience. Also Thanks for the package and the treats. I love the book. It will be fun to study up on Parables. Well this week was a week of success and miracles! Well we decided not to be disanimated we tried to fix and help some companionships. Which turned out to be really good and then we totally saved our goal for baptism. So on Friday Elder Moffett and I were talking about the goal and how many baptisms we were going to have on Saturday. So we received revelation to help some Elders with a family that is ready to be married and baptized, its just we had some paper problems but we found an easier way to marry them. We married that family in 2 days which is super hard. But the Lord paved the path for this family to be married and baptized. Seriously anything could have happened but the Lord wanted this family married and baptized. I have never seen so many miracles haha. The sad part is that is wasnt our famiily but we helped out the Elders get them married and baptized. Which makes me feel good that we help others with there area. I am sure that family was forever grateful. We did not meet our goal but we did get close with these baptisms. It was a family of 5 people. So it was very crucial for our goal. but I can testify that the Lord put a trial and we overcame the trial to have success. Its crazy that Lord just makes things happen. I love this work sooo much. Its sad to see Elder Moffett to leave but he is happy and ready to see his family. Then we have changes this wednesday so we will see who I get for a companion. Lots of changes coming up though!! I love you guys and I thank you so much for your help and love. Your prayers help me so much!!! Love you all and talk to  you until next week.

Week 57 Choluteca

Another week passed.....he is finding that covering the entire zone is a lot of work.

Dear Family,
Yes I have met Elder Olsen and he is nice. lol Totally called that JD was going to be Bishop!!!! I received revelation!!! Anyways thats cool that President Trendler, thats weird to put lol, said we could work that out. So what does he mean I have to report to two wards. The ward in Arizona and the ward in Washington?? or what?? Brother Sterling one of the best seminary teachers!!! Also I miss seminary a lot just because it was such a huge help getting through school sometimes. I am going to make my kids go to seminary it will help your life so much. Good old Higley High and the senior pranks and that would not be a good thing if Andrew was suspended but consequences for your actions. I am so glad I didnt get involved in any of that. Thanks for the Journals and my packages still hasnt come soooo we will see what happens. I am hoping this week because next week are changes and there is going to be a lot of changes in the zone.
Well this week was the busiest week I have ever experienced in my whole mission. Lets start on Monday, I did divisiones with Agua Caliente and we hiked to a little village called Las Uvas. It takes a good 45 minutes to get there and its over a mountain. I went with Elder Evans from Sandy, Utah, really nice kid and is new in the mission. I sweated until my whole shirt was drenched in sweat. This village only has like 50 people but there is a branch there of members. There is no light at all. The people there though are really nice love the missionaries. We worked there all day until it got dark and we made our trip back to Agua Caliente. We had a flashlight but it was pitch black and we hiked back. That was fun doing divisiones. We had the power go out in Agua Caliente and we were exhausted. End of the day. Tuesday we left in the morning to go to Choluteca to end divisions. I get back and we got a partida call to go to Namasigue. Elder Moffett and I did that and came back to our area exhausted and worked in the night time. Wednesday, we had Elder Falabella come to the southern zones of the mission to talk to us in a conference. That was really cool and I learned a ton from him. He made me want to be better in every way possible. Then after conference we had to take a bus to Tegucigalpa to have a council with Elder Falabella on Thursday. So we get to Tegus super late. Thursday, we woke up early went to the Mission Presidents house to have our meeting with Falabella. I learned even more from him and he helped us with our desire to baptize more souls because our mission has a pretty high set goal. So we looked at everyone to see how they are doing after two weeks. After that meeting we left on the last bus to Choluteca and we arrived in Choluteca late. The next day we had District meeting with the zone and started finding out bad news about our zone. I think it would be hard to explain what happened exactly but lets just say we had to shut down an area because a missionary made a bad decision and almost all of the missionaries are not reponsible for their area. We found out that almost every area had a problem and because of these problems we probably wont complete our goal as a zone or for the mission. Yes there were some problems going on that are out of our hands but still its our responsibiliy to make sure the zone is fine. I can tell you guys more details when I come home or another day. I dont like talking about it because it makes me stressed and frustrated. Anyways one positive thing we did have happen was that we had a baptism. Super awesome lady that we taught. She is not the smartest person but has really good desires to follow Jesus Christ. That was my positive thing for the week. Her name is Martha and her daughter is member and we just started teaching her and she is super nice. I honestly have never been so stressed and busy in my whole entire life. I am frustrated with everything that happened but I cant dwell on it because I need to move on and let it be the past and  learn from it. Anyways pray for me please I need some help and guidance. I love you all. Thank you for your prayers and support. I know this week will be a lot better and not as busy. Elder Moffett is doing well and feels the same way I do and yeah at times its hard to be with an Elder that is going home but it doesnt bother that much. My time will come and I hope it doesnt any time soon. Crazy that June is coming in super fast!! Well nothing else to report but thanks again I will look for those packages.

Week 56 Choluteca

Latest news from the deep South.  We were able to speak with him for Mothers day.  What a tender mercy that is to get to speak to him after such a long gap in live communication.  He sounded great and is really working hard to be the best he can.  He seems to be loving the work and is clear that it is a lot of work.

Dear Family,
Hey thanks for the love and the support. I love to hear all of your voices. I am not sure what to say but I am going on divisions today and so we have to leave pretty soon. Anyways thanks mom and I hope you had an awesome Mothers day. Well talk to you guys later. Here are some photos!!!

Week 55 Choluteca

Getting too short on his letters......

Hey Family,
How is it going for you guys?? Sounds like the weddings were exhausting and successful. Also did Chelsey watch football at MCC because there is a guy in our zone that went to MCC for football his name is Chase Vorwaller. He is huge and is losing weight fast here in Choluteca super chill guy. He is from Colorado. Well dad continues to travel. Also tell the Welkers I say hi and how is Shelby doing?? Also Lauren Gale is married!!!!!!! I didnt know that??? Then is Chelsey going back to MCC or what?? Anyways I am excited for  the call home!!!
Well this week was good and we were busy because we were in Tegus for three days and we had a counsel of zone leaders with President Hernandez and that was really good. We were called to repentance because we are not working hard and not obeying the commandments. So we all felt pretty bad and we need to do better as a mission. We didnt complete our baptismal goals and so we had to give the shout out to all of the missionaries about it. I called our zone to repentance because some of the missionaries are not doing what they are suppose to be doing. The frustrating part is that half of the zone is new and they are all starting off not being obedient I hate calling people to repentance but we felt like it was necessary to help out the new missionaries. I felt bad about it but we all needed to do better and be servants of the Lord. So yeah thats what happened then the work wise we found a positive family that we are trying to baptize. They are the Family Dominguez. The husband is a member but the wife no. So we are going to work hard for them and see if they can get baptized. We have some other baptisms set up for this week and we just keep finding and working hard all the time. Elder Moffett is super cool and we work hard together he is going to end his mission well. He really has the desire to serve and work all of the time. I can tell the mission has changed his life and he will carry that change forever. I love him so much haha. Anyways this Sunday I will call in the morning at like 7-8am and probably at night time too at like 7-9pm. It really depends what we are doing but these are the times of when I will call you guys!! Love you tons and I cant wait to hear from you all!!

Atentamente,
Elder Hall

Week 54 Choluteca

Latest update

Dear Family,
Well thanks and I cant believe how much responsibility I have. We are working hard though and this week was not as crazy but we were still running around the area. Anyways I am glad to hear that the wedding went well for Landons wedding and I hope they are happy together. Also crazy how they called President Derrick and he is a really good guy though and really spiritual he is from Thatcher, Arizona. Also dang I cant believe Bishop Trendler is the counselor!!!! I was hoping he would be my Bishop when I came home but the Lord wants him somewhere else. I am guessing JD is the next Bishop lol!! That would be super sweet!! Also dad does sound tired though and he is getting old too lol. But whatever decision you make I will be fine and you all will be fine no matter what. Yeah it would be a bummer that you guys dont live in Arizona anymore but I would like to come home in Arizona. Just because I would love to see all of my buddies come home and old members I loved hanging out with. Well I still have lots of time left though till that moment.
Well this week was pretty good we are starting to work with members a ton to take outr references to visit and teach. We have actually received quite a few references and we hope to find new investigators to teach and we actually did find a new family last night. They seem more or less positive but we will see for sure. I cant believe how fast time flies and how we are already going hard in the change. Elder Moffett is super awesome and loves the work. He is ready to go home but he is still working till the end. He is such an awesome guy and has a girl waiting for him lol. He is going to BYU in the fall and is planning to be married really quick! Crazy huh?! Well the work is going forward and the members here are really cool haha. They help us and love the missionaries. But to be honest nothing really exciting has really happened but I did go on divisiones with some other Elders because we needed to figure out why there is problems in the zone. That is the hardest part about a ZL is making sure the Zone is all good and no has big problems haha. Our President told us that we are responsible for our own zone so we have 20 missionaries on our shoulders haha. Also 6 hermanas!! Also Dad and Kyle were you guys Zone Leaders? Well I cant wait till the call home haha and I know you are anxious mom lol. Its so crazy how time flies though. Also yeah I will definitely write Austin to see how he is doing!? Well I have nothing else to report and I hope  you have an awesome week. Also can you guys send me a couple of Diary books. I dont have any!!
With Love,

week 53 Back to Choluteca

Chase was moved out of Tegu this week and back to Southern Honduras into the city of Choluteca.  He was there for the start of his mission.  He was moved into a Zone Leader role and loves his new companion.  Elder Moffett is from CA and in fact we found out he is from Simi Valley which is an area that our family almost ended up moving to....but not meant to be.

enjoy

Querido Familia,
Well welcome to Choluteca again haha. I had changes!! I am with Elder Moffett from California. He is finishing his mission this change so he is ending pretty quick. Yes its a little hot here but its because of the humidity. I am super happy to hear about you received my letters. Did Emily receive hers?? I am so shocked how everyone is growing up so fast and my cousins are getting married also!!!! I want to see the photos please!!! Good job for Chelsey on her award she deserves it. She was always a hard worker even though she has diabetes she doesnt let it hold her back. Same old with Dad working and always leaving it was hard when we were making that move to Arizona but I know why he does it and he certainly loves us a ton.

Well like I said I had changes to Choluteca again haha. I had feeling I was going back to Choluteca lol. I am assigned as a Zone Leader now with Elder Moffett and so I am taking on something new now. I can tell you now for these past couple of days I have never been so busy in my whole entire mission. Elder Moffett is really cool though and loves to work hard. He is kind of weird but he loves to serve. I can tell that the mission has changed him a lot. Its funny to think that I am here in Choluteca again because I was here a year ago when I started with Elder Thatcher except in a different zone. But we did have five baptisms though haha. They arent really mine because they were the work of the last Elder that was here but they were cool baptisms though. Well on change day we had the same long bus ride to Choluteca and that is always a long drive and then the next day we had to go to two villages, Corpus and Concepcion de Maria, There are no missionaries there and its almost to the borders of Nicaragua lol. We had to go there because we had to take out some papers for a marriage in a zone in Tegucigalpa. Lets just say it was an adventure for sure haha. Thursday we left with a member to take us because he knows the roads and it was a lot more easier to get there. We just had like 6 hours of travel though taking out papers. The catch is we have to pay for the papers in Choluteca and then go back to actually take out the actual papers. So on Friday we had to go back to the same route but the member could not take us because he had to work. So we took a bus that took forever. We showed up to Concepcion de Maria and the place we had to take out the papers was closed because they were eating lunch. So we explored a little until it opened again. The catch again is the final but to Corpus took off at 2 which is when the place opens to take out papers. We took out the papers and missed the bus. Then we had to find a ride to Corpus in order to take out more papers there, but that place closes in Corpus at 4 and we were there at 3. We had to find a truck to take us fast because its a little far haha. So we found a guy to take us and he drove super fast and we arrive just in time in Corpus to take out the papers when they were about to close. Then with luck we caught the last bus to Choluteca. So we were crazy blessed on our way back lol. Then we baptized someone that day too lol. After that we baptized 3 more people on Sunday. I can tell you right now I was super tired and after this first weekend of being a ZL. But yeah I am a little busy. But we completed a family and baptized some young people and a kid. There names are Fabricio, Daniel, Martha, and David. They are all pretty chill. Fabricio has been attending church for 5 years and never was baptized until now! So that was really cool to see. The others we had to baptized again because they lost their records haha. So not a bad weekend. haha. I love the mission though. Thanks for your help and love. Its crazy how I am in Choluteca again. Until next week!!

Love,
Elder Hall
